C-U Safe Routes to School Project
Aims to make walking and bicycling to school safe and appealing for children.
C-U SRTS PROJECT is a community based organization with representatives from the CU Mass Transit District, Champaign County Regional Planning Commission, Urbana and Champaign engineering and law enforcement, Urbana and Champaign School Districts, local health agencies, bike clubs and more.
This project came about after four years of organizing Walk & Bike To School Day in Champaign and Urbana schools and deciding that there was so much more that could be done to educate this community on pedestrian and bicycle safety issues.
